PianoThe College of Southern Idaho Music Department offers a general Associate of Arts Degrees in Music as well as coursework in Music Appreciation, Music Theory, Jazz, and Aural Skills, along with instruction in a wide variety of musical instruments.

Performance opportunities abound in the Music Department. There are currently nine performing groups available to participate in at CSI, including Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensemble, Pep Band, Percussion Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Choir, Madrigal Ensemble, and Magic Valley Chorale. Student and faculty concerts allow for solo performances as well. In addition to group instruction, private vocal and instrumental lessons are available. For more information on performing groups, group instruction, or private music instruction, please click here.

The faculty of the CSI Music Department is dedicated to helping students prepare for careers in performing, teaching, and other music-related areas. While the members of the CSI Music faculty are active performers, their first priority is teaching. This means that their students come first. The emphasis is not on making students "sink or swim," but rather doing their best to see that every student enjoys success in his or her endeavors.
